Marks are starting points for matching offsets. Rack hardware and conduit size still govern the field layout.

Method

Bend spacing = offset height / sin(angle)

Stagger step = conduit spacing / tan(angle)

Conduit n first mark = (n - 1) x stagger step; second mark = first mark + bend spacing

Formula variables

  • Conduit count is the number of parallel conduits to mark.
  • Offset height is the matching rise or drop for each conduit.
  • Conduit spacing is centre-to-centre rack spacing.
  • Angle is the bend angle used on every conduit.

Assumptions

  • Bend spacing uses the same offset geometry as a single conduit offset.
  • Stagger step is based on conduit spacing divided by tangent of the bend angle.
  • Marks assume matching offsets, equal spacing, and parallel raceways before field adjustment.
  • Rack conditions, fittings, bend radius, pull planning, and installed tolerances can override the screen.

Examples

Three-conduit rack. Three conduits at 50 mm spacing with a 150 mm, 30 degree offset have 300 mm bend spacing and about 86.6 mm stagger step.

Layout workflow. Use the mark table as a starting point, then adjust for the actual bender, conduit size, rack hardware, and field tolerance.
