Formula variables
- Run length is the straight conduit path length.
- Maximum spacing is the user-entered spacing target.
- End distance is the first support distance from each end.
- Support count is a planning count for the simplified straight run.
Assumptions
- The maximum spacing is entered by the user from the project basis.
- The calculator lays out a simple straight run with end distances at both ends.
- Expansion fittings, bends, boxes, structural supports, and field obstructions are not modeled.
- This calculator does not set code support spacing, approve supports, or replace manufacturer and project requirements.
Examples
Straight run layout. A 30 m run with 3 m maximum spacing and 0.9 m end distance estimates 11 supports at about 2.82 m average spacing.
Field workflow. Review boxes, bends, expansion joints, conduit type, and actual support points before installation layout.
